If you are interested in hiring someone from the SF Day Labor Program for general labor, please read the following information and complete the form below.

Our members provide high-quality services for general labor (i.e., construction, moving, gardening, or painting) or skilled labor (i.e., tiling, electrical, plumbing). Our rates include: 

• General Labor: $30 per hour (3 hour minimum) 
• Skilled Labor: $30-40 per hour (3 hour minimum) 
• Estimates available for complex projects 

Payment of the work must be in cash. But on some occasions you can pay each worker by check. If a job is canceled with less than 24 hours notice, you must pay the worker $30 per person. This policy ensures that our staff receive advance notice and are compensated for their time.  

State labor laws require that all workers must receive a 10-minute paid break for every four hours worked and a 30-minute break for every five hours worked (unless the workday is less than 6 hours, in which case the meal period may be waived by mutual consent). 

Workers and employers must adhere to the CDC’s COVID-19 safety guidance, which includes wearing a face mask and maintaining six feet of physical distancing.
